Caramel Banana Pudding

How can you make classic banana pudding even more irresistible? By adding a rich caramel twist!

Ingredients:

For the Pudding:

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups cold water
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
3 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
4-5 ripe bananas, sliced
1 box vanilla wafers
For the Caramel Sauce:

1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Directions:

Prepare the Caramel Sauce:

In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, swirling the pan occasionally (do not stir) until the sugar dissolves and turns a deep amber color.
Carefully add the heavy cream, whisking constantly (the mixture will bubble up). Continue to whisk until smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in the butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Let it cool to room temperature.
Prepare the Pudding:

In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and cold water until well combined. Add the instant pudding mix and whisk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes.
Fold in the whipped cream until fully incorporated.
Assemble the Banana Pudding:

In a large trifle dish or individual serving cups, layer vanilla wafers on the bottom. Top with a layer of sliced bananas.
Spoon a layer of pudding over the bananas, followed by a drizzle of caramel sauce.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
Chill and Serve:

Cover and refrigerate the banana pudding for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften.
Just before serving, drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top for an extra indulgent touch.
Tips:

For added crunch, reserve some caramel sauce and drizzle it over crushed vanilla wafers to sprinkle on top before serving.
If you prefer a stronger banana flavor, mash one banana and mix it into the pudding mixture.
Enjoy your Caramel Banana Pudding!
