BRGR Oktoberfest: Brats, Beers, and Fun in Kansas City
BRGR Oktoberfest: Brats, Beers, and Fun in Kansas City
Oktoberfest season is officially here, and what better way to celebrate than with a local favorite? Last week, I had the pleasure of being invited out to BRGR to experience their take on Oktoberfest, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint! From savory brats to refreshing beers and even a good old-fashioned beer hold competition, BRGR brought all the festive vibes right here to Kansas City.
OKTOBERFEST RUNS FROM September 15th – October 31st
Whether you’re in Prairie Village, Kansas or heading downtown to the Power & Light District, BRGR has two locations ready to serve up their mouthwatering menu and seasonal Oktoberfest specials. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to celebrate, gather your friends, and enjoy the flavors of fall, BRGR needs to be at the top of your list.
The Brat That Stole the Show
Let’s start with the star of Oktoberfest—the brat. I ordered one, and it was absolutely delicious. What made it unforgettable was the mustard. Seriously, this wasn’t your average condiment. It was sweet, tangy, and flavorful in a way that perfectly complemented the smoky richness of the brat. I’ve tried plenty of brats before, but this one set the bar high. The bun was soft, the brat had that perfect snap when you bit into it, and every bite was balanced with that standout mustard.
If you’re attending BRGR Oktoberfest, the brat should definitely be at the top of your must-try list. It captures the authentic flavors of the season with a fresh, Kansas City twist.
Honey Chicken Sandwich: A Sweet Surprise
While Oktoberfest is traditionally all about the brats and beers, I couldn’t resist trying the Honey Chicken Sandwich—and wow, I’m glad I did. The chicken was juicy and crispy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with just the right amount of honey glaze to make every bite sweet, savory, and satisfying.
It’s one of those sandwiches you think you’ll take one bite of just to sample, but then suddenly you’re staring at an empty plate wondering how you ate the whole thing so fast. If you’re not a brat person (or even if you are), this sandwich is the perfect option to mix things up.
Beer, Beer, and More Beer
Of course, no Oktoberfest celebration is complete without the beer. BRGR didn’t disappoint—they had plenty of options to choose from, making it easy to find the perfect brew to pair with your food. Whether you’re a fan of crisp lagers, smooth ales, or seasonal Oktoberfest-style beers, BRGR has something that’ll make your taste buds happy.
And yes, we also put our strength to the test with a beer hold competition. If you’ve never tried one, it’s exactly what it sounds like: holding a full beer stein straight out in front of you for as long as you can. It’s harder than it looks, but so much fun—especially when you’re laughing and cheering each other on with a group of friends. It really added to the festive atmosphere and gave us all a good memory to take home. My friend Amanda won by default, but we had fun and loved every minute of it!
To my surprise the beer flight was very affordable at only $10 per flight!

Invited Out & Impressed
As I mentioned, I was invited out to experience BRGR Oktoberfest, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity. It’s always exciting to see local restaurants celebrate seasonal traditions in ways that make the community feel connected. BRGR really nailed it by combining delicious food, fun activities, and of course, plenty of beer.
From the outstanding brat with that unforgettable mustard, to the honey chicken sandwich that absolutely blew me away, and the festive beer hold that kept us laughing, it was the kind of night that reminds you why you love fall in Kansas City.
