A Taste of Perfection at Roots Seasonal Cuisine in Lee’s Summit, MO
If you’re looking for a local dining spot that delivers top-tier flavor, warm hospitality, and a beautiful setting—all while switching things up seasonally—Roots Seasonal Cuisine in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, should be your next stop. Tucked in the Streets of West Pryor shopping center, Roots is more than just a trendy place to grab a bite—it’s an experience. And after finally dining there myself, I’m still thinking about every single bite.
From Local Vision to Local Favorite
Roots is the vision of Amanda Accurso and Brandon Sharp, a dynamic husband-and-wife team who brought their years of hospitality experience together to create a space that feels both elevated and approachable. Their restaurant concept is all about seasonal menus—every few months, the dishes rotate to highlight fresh, in-season ingredients, keeping the experience exciting and the flavors at their peak.
But let me tell you—seasonal doesn’t mean inconsistent. I was genuinely blown away because every single thing we ordered was not only beautifully plated but cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection.
What I Ordered (And Loved)
Let’s get into the real reason you’re here—the food.
First up, I had the potato boats. These aren’t your average twice-baked potatoes. They were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and loaded with flavor—topped with white cheddar, sun-dried tomato, and chimichurri. Talk about comfort food with a gourmet twist!
Next, I tried the fried chicken, and it was seasoned and crispy just the way I like it. You know that perfect crunch when you bite into freshly fried chicken? Roots nailed it. The skin was golden and flavorful, while the inside stayed juicy and tender. I’m still daydreaming about it.
I also went for the pork tenderloin, which was unbelievably tender and perfectly seasoned. It had that rich, smoky flavor that makes you pause mid-bite and go “Okay, hold up, this is GOOD.”
And my husband? He got the pork chop, and we both agreed—it was hands down the best pork chop we’ve ever had. Thick-cut, juicy, and chargrilled to smoky perfection. He literally didn’t want to share, and I don’t blame him.
A Menu That Moves With the Seasons
One of the most unique things about Roots is their commitment to a menu that evolves. Every season brings new dishes, new flavor combinations, and new ways to surprise your taste buds. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to often, because the experience will never be the same twice.
Even though the menu changes, the quality stays consistent. From the appetizers to the entrées to the desserts, Roots serves up dishes that are thoughtful, layered, and made with love. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they’re doing.
Some of the standout dishes you might see on the seasonal menu include:
-
Lobster Deviled Eggs
-
Ahi Tuna Tataki
-
Steakhouse Salad
-
Nashville-style Pork Tenderloin Sandwich
-
S’mores Cake or Carrot Cake (depending on the season)
And don’t skip brunch. Their cinnamon roll is fluffy, gooey, and topped with cream cheese glaze—it’s basically a hug on a plate.
Atmosphere That Feels Like a Getaway
Let’s talk ambiance. Roots gives off a polished, cozy vibe. The décor is warm and modern with clean lines and wood tones, making it perfect for everything from a casual lunch date to a fancy night out.
I loved that the dining room didn’t feel crowded or too loud. It has that “elevated comfort” energy—it’s chic, but not stuffy. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made sure our experience was top notch from start to finish.
Whether you’re dining inside or out on the patio when the weather is nice, it’s a vibe. I honestly could’ve stayed there all night sipping cocktails and chatting over bites.
Drinks & Specials That Don’t Disappoint
Speaking of cocktails—they’re not playing around. Roots has a rotating list of craft cocktails that match the season. During Happy Hour (3–5 PM on weekdays), you can snag $10 spritzes, $4 draft beers, and 25% off other cocktails. Plus, they do fun themed nights like Pasta Night and Prime Rib Sunday, which just adds to the charm.
Their wine list is also well-curated, and if you’re into pairing your food with the perfect drink, they’ve got options.
Something for Everyone
Roots is one of those rare places that works for all types of eaters. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, low-carb, or all about the meat and potatoes, you’ll find something delicious here. They’re intentional about labeling their menu and creating dishes that are inclusive without sacrificing flavor.
It’s also family friendly. Although I most likely will not bring my 2 boys back, (only because this spot is very elegant and ordering a big plate for my 10-year-old is a bit much.)
I’m happy they got to experience a great upscale Restaurant in MO.
Events & Community Vibes
Beyond the dining experience, Roots is super involved in the local community. They host wine dinners, themed brunches, and special holiday menus. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t just serve great food—they create memories.
They also offer catering and host small private events, which is perfect if you’re looking for a local venue with great food and a beautiful atmosphere.
While visiting a local musician gave us amzing music and we danced and had a great time!
