Coupons have changed my life drastically, for the good! From clipping coupons every Sunday to using digital coupons. I can say the use of coupons has changed. But that okay, I have put together this blog post to help someone who is wanting to start using coupons to lower their out-of-pocket costs on groceries and or everyday goods. Where to find coupons: You can find coupons in your weekly newspapers ,or mailbox you can also print them from creditable sites like coupons.com. Some stores have digital coupons that you may clip to you store account. You may try and find a coupon fairy in your neighborhood. (You can find these via. Facebook or Instagram.)

Have a plan: Never go to the store without a plan and a budget. Anticipate exactly how much you intend on spending. Shop smart by checking your stores grocery or shopping ads and matching products with rebate apps to maximize your savings. (Read apps you absolutely need)

Starting slow is recommended. There are tons deals happening at different stores online and instore. Don’t get discouraged if you are seeing many great deals, a lot of them will come back around. Every item on sale is not always a good deal. Spend wisely and check other stores for the same item, it may be priced at a cheaper or more expensive price.

 Stay organized, couponing can get messy real fast. I recommend a coupon binder, or pouch that you can carry your coupons in to keep them organized.

Shop for your household:  It is important to only shop for what your home needs.  Every couponers stockpile will look different, this will limit the need for unnecessary spending.

You will make mistakes! As you get more comfortable with using coupons you will see that it will get easier. It is important to check coupon limits, expirations date and usage limits. I still make rookie mistakes as each stores coupon policies are different and subject change it at any time.

Remember to be nice and polite with cashiers and a lot of the time the cashiers will work with you if you are simply being nice. Remember the ultimate goal: learn and maximize your savings! I hope this Beginners Guide was helpful to show you how to use coupons
