If you’re a Kansas City foodie looking for your next go-to spot, Chick in Waffle should be at the top of your list. I recently visited their Westport location, and y’all — I’m still thinking about that meal. The fried chicken was perfectly golden, crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. Every bite gave that satisfying crunch you only get from fresh, well-prepped chicken.

Let’s give some love to the waffles, too. It seems like Chick in Waffle has recently updated their waffle recipe — and whatever they did, they need to keep doing it! These waffles were soft, fluffy, slightly sweet, and perfectly golden. The texture balanced beautifully with the crispy chicken, creating that classic sweet-and-savory combo we all love, but elevated. I took my first bite and was in heaven yall that chicken is THAT GOOD!
🍟 I tried something new, the Masala Fries
I tried the Masala Fries on the side, and they added a surprising twist to the meal. These aren’t basic fries — they’re seasoned with bold spices, giving them a flavorful punch with a subtle heat. A crispy texture and just the right amount of seasoning made them one of my favorite parts of the visit.

I finished things off with the Raspberry Shake, and it was chef’s kiss. It was rich, creamy, and had a real berry flavor — not overly sweet, just the perfect finish to a flavorful meal. If you’re a shake fan, this one is a must.
I also tried the cookies and creme shake and the choclate surprised me! It was absolutely delicious.

The staff at the Westport location were super friendly and welcoming. Even though it was a busy afternoon, my order came out hot and fresh without a long wait. The vibe was casual, upbeat, and full of good energy — perfect for a solo bite, lunch with friends, or a late-night craving.
The menu is extensive there’s so much I want to go back and try! Like the bone in chicken and the loaded fries that are one of their top sellers, so I’m told.

Can we talk about the big news? Chick in Waffle is opening a new location in Kansas City’s Power & Light District! This is huge for downtown KC foodies, concert-goers, and anyone visiting the area. Now you can grab your crispy chicken, waffles, fries, and shakes even closer to the city’s biggest attractions.
